…And those supernal lights illuminate the letters, and from this derives the sanctity of the Torah scroll, Tefillin, Mezuzot, and all sacred writings. The greater the sanctity with which they are written, the greater the divine inspiration and illumination upon the letters. Therefore, a Torah scroll with even a single flaw is entirely invalidated, because the illumination upon it is not as it should be, to draw sanctity to the people through the power of its reading.
